Tomorrow we’ll start Freud’s Civilization and its Discontents. Try to get through parts I-III (pp. 1-45). We’ll do another reading from Gargantua and Pantagruel tomorrow. This week we’ll do pp. 118-128 (Ch. 54-58 in Book I, concerning the Abbey of Thélème) and pp. 365-375 (Ch. 49-52 in Book III, concerning the herb Pantagruelion). We’re going to read some Rabelais on Tuesday! Book Four of Gargantua and Pantagruel, pp. 383-393 (the Prologue) and 402-408 (chapters 5-8).

We’ll conclude Communicating Vessels next week. Go from part 3 through the appendix (pp. 119-155).

We’ll push forth with Breton’s Communicating Vessels tomorrow. Read Part 2 (pp. 63-117). A reminder that we meet from 7-9pm now.
